Talwandi Sabo (Punjab), April 14, 2026: Senior leaders of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Punjab marked the festival of Baisakhi by offering prayers at Takht Sri Damdama Sahib, one of the five sacred seats of Sikhism.
The occasion commemorates the establishment of the Khalsa Panth by Guru Gobind Singh in 1699. A delegation of BJP leaders, including senior advocate H.S. Phoolka and Rajya Sabha MP Satnam Singh Sandhu, joined devotees in paying obeisance and praying for “Sarbat Da Bhala” — the welfare of all.

The leaders offered prayers for peace, progress, and prosperity in Punjab and across the country, while also emphasising the importance of communal harmony and unity. They participated in Shabad Kirtan and performed Langar Seva, reflecting the Sikh principles of devotion, honest work, and sharing.
Speaking on the occasion, Phoolka extended Baisakhi greetings and highlighted the historic role of the Khalsa Panth in safeguarding the nation. He expressed hope that the Guru’s blessings would guide Punjab towards regaining its past glory.

MP Satnam Singh Sandhu also conveyed his greetings, describing his visit to the sacred site as a deeply spiritual experience. He emphasised that the teachings of Sikhism inspire resilience, faith, and service to society, adding that the community has always played a key role in protecting the nation and supporting others.
The BJP leaders reiterated their commitment to working for the welfare and development of Punjab while drawing inspiration from Sikh values.
