Chandigarh, April 25, 2026:Amid the ongoing political turmoil in Punjab, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has made a significant move by seeking an appointment with the President of India.
According to sources, Mann is preparing to travel to Delhi along with a group of Punjab MLAs to press for action against Rajya Sabha members who recently joined the BJP. The Chief Minister is expected to urge that these members be “recalled” or disqualified for switching sides.
Mann has argued that the MPs were elected with the mandate of the people of Punjab and the support of the Aam Aadmi Party, and that their decision to change allegiance violates constitutional and ethical norms.
The Chief Minister has already labelled the seven Rajya Sabha MPs as “traitors,” accusing the BJP of attempting to weaken democracy through the use of central agencies and suppress the voice of Punjab.
Sources indicate that Mann could leave for Delhi at short notice. If granted a meeting, the development could mark a crucial moment in Punjab’s political landscape, with the state government set to formally present its case before the President.
