DSCW marks World Book and Copyright Day with reading session and book donation drive

Ferozepur, May 2, 2026: The Library of Dev Samaj College for Women, Ferozepur organised a Reading Session and Book Donation Drive to celebrate World Book and Copyright Day with great enthusiasm. The initiative aimed to cultivate reading habits among students and raise awareness about intellectual property rights.
Held at the Arts Library, the program featured a Book Reading Session where students shared excerpts from their favorite books. The event also included a Book Donation Drive, with students and staff contributing books to enrich the college library.
Participants were informed about the origins of the day initiated by UNESCO and its association with literary greats such as William Shakespeare. Students learned how this global observance celebrates the power of books in shaping minds and preserving culture, while also honoring the enduring legacy of great literary figures across generations.
In her concluding remarks, Principal Dr. Sangeeta highlighted the importance of books as a powerful source of knowledge and imagination, encouraging students to make reading an integral part of their lives.
