Chandigarh, May 16, 2026: Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Friday spoke publicly for the first time about the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process of voter lists scheduled to begin in the state from June 15.
Addressing concerns surrounding the revision drive ahead of the 2027 Punjab Assembly elections, Mann said the entire process would be conducted with complete transparency and honesty to ensure that the voting rights of genuine citizens remain protected.
The Chief Minister said no eligible voter in Punjab would be allowed to face any irregularity or tampering during the voter list verification exercise. He also responded to concerns related to alleged vote manipulation and assured strict monitoring throughout the process.
Mann stated that the Aam Aadmi Party will deploy its Booth Level Assistants (BLAs) on the ground alongside Booth Level Officers (BLOs) appointed by the Election Commission to help oversee the revision work.
The Special Intensive Revision process in Punjab is expected to continue from June 15 until October as authorities prepare updated electoral rolls ahead of the next Assembly elections in the state.
