Bakri Eid Holiday in Central Govt Offices in Delhi shifted to May 28

New Delhi, May 22, 2026: The Central Government has officially rescheduled the public holiday for Id-ul-Zuha (Bakri Eid) for all its administrative offices in Delhi and New Delhi.
According to an Office Memorandum issued by the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions on May 22, 2026, the holiday has been shifted to Thursday, May 28, 2026, instead of the previously scheduled date of May 27.
This decision was taken following updates regarding the official sighting of the moon. For Central Government offices located outside the national capital, the memorandum states that local Coordination Committees or Heads of Offices will determine the holiday date based on the decisions of their respective State Governments.
