The Jathedar of Sri Akal Takht Sahib, Giani Kuldip Singh Gadgaj, has strongly condemned the broad daylight murder of Jagdeep Singh, a teacher and resident of Talwandi Manak village in the Jandiala Guru area of Amritsar, and expressed his condolences to the bereaved family.
He said that Jagdeep Singh was a promising Gursikh who was serving as a teacher in a government school. Recalling his association with the deceased, Giani Kuldip Singh Gargajj said that Jagdeep Singh had studied with him in school and was an exceptionally talented individual. He remarked that the loss of such young and capable individuals is a major setback for Punjab and the Sikh Panth.
The Jathedar said it is a matter of grave concern that talented youth in Punjab are becoming victims of crime within the state. He asked the Punjab Police to arrest the killers of Jagdeep Singh without delay and ensure justice for the victim’s family.
He further said that information is being received that the investigation into Jagdeep Singh’s murder is being handled with considerable laxity by the police, leading to widespread resentment among the family members and local residents. He called upon the police to take immediate and effective action against criminal elements operating in the area and ensure the safety and security of the lives and property of ordinary citizens.
Giani Kuldip Singh Gargajj also offered prayers to the Akal Purakh, seeking eternal peace for the departed soul and strength for the family to accept the divine will.
