Food Safety Wing, Ferozepur directs traders to remove products from sale
Ferozepur, August 7, 2026: The Food Safety Wing, Health Department, Ferozepur, has appealed to consumers and Food Business Operators (FBOs) to comply with the directions issued by the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) regarding the sale of certain food products carrying misleading "100%" claims on their labels.
Acting on the directions of the Civil Surgeon, District Health Officer (DHO), Ferozepur, and the Commissioner, Food and Drug Administration, Punjab, Food Safety Officer Abhinav Khosla said that FSSAI, through a prohibition notice issued on August 3, 2026, has ordered a ban on the sale of specified products making claims such as "100% Natural", "100% Pure" and similar assertions, considering them misleading under Section 36 of the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006.
The products covered under the prohibition include Dabur Sunderban Honey, Dabur Honey Squeezy, Dabur Honey, Dabur Himalayan Apple Cider Vinegar, Dabur Himalayan Organic Apple Cider Vinegar, Dabur Virgin Coconut Oil, Dabur Cold Pressed Sesame Oil, Dabur Cow Ghee (200 ml), Réal Activ Coconut Water (Pack of 6), Dabur Hommade Coconut Milk (200 ml) and Dabur Organic Honey.
The Food Safety Wing has advised consumers not to rely solely on promotional claims such as "100%" while purchasing food products. Instead, they should carefully check the product label, FSSAI licence number, manufacturing date and other mandatory information. Consumers have also been urged to report any misleading advertisements or labels to the Food Safety Wing.
Food Business Operators have been directed to immediately stop the sale, display and promotion of products carrying such misleading claims and ensure that all labels and advertisements strictly comply with FSSAI regulations. Officials warned that any violation of the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006, and related regulations may invite legal action.
The Food Safety Wing reiterated its commitment to ensuring the availability of safe and quality food products and appealed to the public to remain vigilant while purchasing packaged food items.
