Bathinda April 28 : Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi on Monday addressing a mammoth rally at Bathinda in support of Congress-PPP-CPI joint candidate Manpreet Singh Badal, charged BJP Prime Ministerial candidate Narendra Modi of being ill-mannered towards his political opponents and adopting double standards on corruption and favouring select industrialists such as Adani group and few others.
Rahul said benefits of around Rs 35000 crore has been given to Adani group in the shape of power waiver and 45000 acre land at rate Rs 1/- per square yard in Gujrat. Government owned companies has been sold to corporate at throw away prices by Modi government. Rubbishing aside the much-hyped Gujarat model of development, Rahul Gandhi alleged that large-scale deception of central government funds was taking place in Gujarat. \"There is only one model in Gujarat and that is to help selected industrialists and big corporate houses,\" added Rahul.
Despite various hurdles the rally was a successful event with a strong enthused participation of more than 25000 (twenty five thousand) people which were largely from the Lok Sabha constituency Bathinda. Participants were in upbeat mood raising slogans in favour of Rahul Gandhi and Manpreet Badal.Parking for buses was earmarked in transport nagar so people walked for 2 kilometers to reach the rally venue.Young people participating in the rally said \"Ab ki bar Modi sarkar filhaal nahin\". Buses were seen reaching the rally venue even after the rally was over and Rahul Gandhi left for the other rally in Faridkot. Lok Sabha candidate Manpreet Singh Badal and Rajinder Kaur Bhattal Chairperson of state election campaign committee also addressed the rally.
