Meet the Press program at Patiala Media Club Patiala, August 18 : Shiromani Akali Dal President and Deputy Chief Minister Punjab Mr. Sukhbir Singh Badal today opened a frontal attack on former Congress Member Parliament from Patiala and candidate of the party for Patiala assembly by-poll Mrs. Parneet Kaur for failing to get any grants for Patiala under National Capital Area scheme when she was minister in UPA government. Mr. Badal said that if Mrs. Preneet Kaur could easily get more than Rs. 300 crore for the development of city if she had done serious efforts for the same. Interacting with media during a ‘Meet the Press’ program organized by Patiala Media Club, Mr. Badal said that Patiala being eligible for development grant under could easily got grants of more than three hundred crore under NCR scheme but former congress MP never bothered to put forward the case of Patiala. He said that he was surprised of this easygoing attitude of Mrs. Preneet Kaur who was now seeking votes from Patialvis after deceiving them as MP. On Amrinder’s allegations that Punjab government has shifted central funds for Government Medical College and Rajindra hospital Patiala and Patiala Development Authority (PDA) to somewhere else, Mr. Badal said that Captain has proved himself a big liar time and again. He said that everybody knows that state government could not shift the central funds allocated for a specific project. Mr. Badal said that in reality Congress led UPA government had not sent even a penny for Medical College and all they did was issuing misleading statements only. Describing the NDA government as Punjab friendly government, Mr. Badal said that Punjab has witnessed a sea change in the attitude of centre government towards state from the day NDA was in power. “During Congress led UPA rule we have to present the case of state again and again but centre government used to refuse the development grants on one ground or other. Now, our projects are getting clearance on fast track basis. Every Punjabi could easily witness this change when work on Zirakpur-Patiala-Bathinda cemented four lanning road, sewerage projects in all cities and towns and other development projects would be completed in next two yearsâ€, he added. Declaring March 31, 2014 as last date for completing computerization of backend system, Mr. Badal said that once the computerization of backend system was completed the administrative reforms would be practically fully implemented. He said that the only mission of SAD-BJP led Punjab government was to develop the state and provide its people a world class transparent administrative system. On the issue of development of Patiala, Mr. Badal said that during past elections people of Patiala voted for the candidates who were good for nothing except misleading people. He said that now Shiromani Akali Dal has given Patiala a Candidate who has great record of selfless services. He appealed the members of Patiala Media Club to not only vote but also support Mr. Bhagwan Das Juneja. He said that he was quite confident that Mr. Juneja would not left any stone unturned to ensure the overall development of the city. Earlier, Mr. Jaspal Singh Dhillon, General Secretary of club welcomed Mr. Badal and other esteemed guests. Mr. Ravel Singh Bhinder, President of the club presented vote of thanks. Club members presented memorandum to Mr. Badal and honored the guests
