Mohali District & Sessions judge, SAS Nagar holds meeting with judicial officers for successful organization of National Lok Adalat

For the successful organization of the upcoming National Lok Adalat scheduled for May 14, a meeting of all Judicial Officers posted at Sessions Division, SAS Nagar was held under the Chairmanship of R.S. Rai, District & Sessions-cum-Chairman-District Legal Services Authority, SAS Nagar. During the meeting, all the officers were impressed to dispose of maximum cases in the upcoming Lok Adalat. All the officers were requested to identify the cases for settlement and to issue notices to the parties for their appearance in the Court accordingly.
The officers dealing with MACT cases, Industrial disputes, and Matrimonial disputes were sensitized to take up and settle cases as per the guidelines of NALSA in the upcoming Lok Adalat. The officers were also told to take up maximum cases under Section 138 Negotiable Instrument Act, Criminal compoundable, cancellation reports, and miscellaneous matters. In order to provide sufficient opportunities for the parties to have interaction with each other for settlement of their disputes, Judicial Officers were directed to hold Pre-Lok Adalats on daily basis.
Baljinder Singh Maan, Secretary, District Legal Services Authority, SAS Nagar informed that in the upcoming National Lok Adalat cases relating to various categories i.e. Criminal Compoundable Offences, cases under Section-138 of Negotiable Instruments Act, Bank Recovery Cases, MACT Cases, Matrimonial Disputes, Labour dispute cases, Land Acquisition cases, Electricity and Water Bills (Excluding non-compoundable theft cases), Service matters relating to pay and allowances and Retiral benefits, Revenue Cases and other Civil Cases (Rent, Easmentary Rights, Injunction Suits, specific performance suits) etc. would be taken up for disposal. Apart from this, pre-litigative cases would also be taken up in the National Lok Adalat.
