Chandigarh, April 24, 2026: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Friday levelled serious allegations against Union Home Minister Amit Shah, accusing him of orchestrating a conspiracy to weaken the party by engineering defections.
Addressing an urgent press conference, AAP Punjab spokesperson Baltej Pannu claimed that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is attempting to break AAP by using senior party leader Raghav Chadha as a “tool.”
Pannu alleged that Shah has tasked Chadha with persuading seven AAP Members of Parliament to defect to the BJP. According to him, the purported move is aimed at weakening AAP’s strength and silencing its voice in Parliament.
“Amit Shah wants to poach our MPs, and for this dirty politics, he is taking the help of Raghav Chadha. We will not let this conspiracy succeed,” Pannu said.
He further asserted that AAP legislators and MPs remain firmly united behind party leaders Arvind Kejriwal and Bhagwant Mann.
The statement has triggered a political stir in both Punjab and Delhi, raising questions over internal dynamics within AAP. As of now, neither Raghav Chadha nor the BJP has issued any official response to the allegations.
Pannu concluded by stating that AAP will not bow to pressure and will soon present further evidence related to the alleged conspiracy.
