Canada: Punjab youth dies in fatal road crash

Khanna (Punjab), April 2, 2026: A 26-year-old youth from Jaspalon village near Khanna has died in a tragic road accident in Canada, triggering a wave of grief across his native village.
The deceased, identified as Jugraj Singh Jogi, had moved to Canada in 2017 and had recently secured permanent residency. According to family members, he was working as a trailer driver and was known for his hardworking nature.
Relatives said the fatal accident occurred when his trailer collided with another heavy vehicle. The impact was severe, resulting in the death of Jugraj Singh as well as two other Punjabi youths travelling in the other trailer.
Jugraj Singh, the only son of his parents, had been living with his sister in Canada and supporting his family back home. Villagers described him as a well-mannered and dedicated young man whose untimely death has left the entire community in shock.
His last rites will be performed in Canada, and his parents along with other family members have departed to attend the funeral.
