Dr. Parminder Singh takes charge as Civil Surgeon Ferozepur
Ferozepur, September 10, 2026: Dr. Parminder Singh assumed charge as the new Civil Surgeon of Ferozepur on Wednesday. Programme Officers and staff of the Civil Surgeon’s office welcomed him by presenting a bouquet.
Dr. Parminder Singh has held various positions in the Health Department and has extensive experience in providing healthcare services to the public. He began his government service in 1995 as a Medical Officer at the Government Health Institution, Manawala, in Ferozepur district. He subsequently served at government hospitals in different districts of Punjab.
From 2004 to 2007, he pursued post-graduation in Forensic Medicine at Government Medical College, Patiala, followed by Senior Residency in the Department of Forensic Medicine at Government Medical College, Amritsar. He also served as District Immunization Officer at Fazilka.
Since 2021, Dr. Singh had been serving as Senior Medical Officer with ESI, Jalandhar. He has now been promoted and entrusted with the responsibility of Civil Surgeon, Ferozepur.
After assuming charge, Dr. Singh said that ensuring effective implementation of all government health programmes and providing quality healthcare services to people at Aam Aadmi Clinics and government hospitals would be his top priority.
He said he held a meeting with the staff to review various ongoing health programmes and took feedback regarding their implementation.
Dr. Singh also issued a stern warning to food adulterators, saying that adulteration in food would not be tolerated. He assured that every possible step would be taken to ensure that people get safe, pure and hygienic food products.
Regarding drug abuse, he said the Health Department would intensify awareness campaigns about the harmful effects of drugs and ensure that patients visiting de-addiction centres receive proper treatment and care.
He further assured that patients visiting government health institutions in Ferozepur would not be allowed to face inconvenience. He directed all staff members to perform their duties with dedication, commitment and a spirit of service.
