Ferozepur to get Vande Bharat train soon; fitness report cleared
Ferozepur, August 12, 2025: The border district of Ferozepur is set to receive the gift of a Vande Bharat train, as revealed by BJP National Executive Member Rana Gurmit Singh Sodhi. He shared that a few days ago, he met with Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw and demanded major railway benefits for Ferozepur and Fazilka.
During the meeting, Sodhi requested that the Vande Bharat train be started from Ferozepur so that the industrially backward district could progress on the path of development and achieve all-round growth. Sodhi added that the Railways had already gifted Ferozepur trains to Rameshwaram, Haridwar, and Nanded Sahib, and the Chandigarh train service had also been restarted through his efforts.
He emphasized that Ferozepur is his birthplace and workplace, and he makes dedicated efforts to raise the people’s issues at the Centre. Describing the locals as part of his family, he said the Central Government is paying special attention to Ferozepur’s development. Sodhi also announced that before March 2026, the PGI Satellite Centre will be inaugurated in Ferozepur, with OPD services starting soon thereafter.
