West Virginia (US), August 3, 2025: In a heartbreaking development, four members of an Indian-origin family who had gone missing during a road trip in the United States were found dead following a car crash in Marshall County, West Virginia, officials confirmed.
As per TOI report, the family was en route to visit Prabhupada’s Palace of Gold in Moundsville but never reached their destination.
According to Marshall County Sheriff Mike Dougherty, the vehicle—a Toyota Camry with New York license plates—was discovered on the night of August 2 around 9:30 PM, having crashed off a steep embankment along Big Wheeling Creek Road. All four occupants were found dead at the scene.
The victims have been identified as: Asha Divan, Kishore Divan, Shailesh Divan and Gita Divan.
The family was last seen on Tuesday, captured on CCTV footage at a Burger King on Peach Street in Erie, Pennsylvania, where two members were seen entering the restaurant. Their final credit card transaction also took place at that location.
Authorities believe the group had planned to travel from Pittsburgh to Moundsville, where they had prepaid for a night’s stay near the temple.
