Student caught with Desi Pistol Near Hussainiwala Headworks
Ferozepur, October 9, 2025: A Class 12 student was apprehended by police, on a tip-off, near the Hussainiwala Headworks area after being found in possession of a country-made pistol (desi katta).
The accused has been identified as Arshdeep Singh, alias Dulli, a resident of the village of Bhanewala and a student of Government Senior Secondary School, Gatti Rajo Ki, a border village in Ferozepur district. He was intercepted at a police checkpoint (nakabandi) near Jallo Ke Moud following a tip-off during patrolling. The pistol was recovered from him on the spot.
Sukhbir Singh, Chowki Incharge, Bare Ke, said, the police are investigating how the firearm reached the student and whether any larger conspiracy is involved. “It is alarming that such a weapon was found with a schoolboy. We are examining all angles, including the possibility of financial inducement or plans for criminal use,” said a police official. Meanwhile, a case under the Arms Act has been registered, and further investigation is in progress.
