Singhu Border, May 26, 2021: The women farmers from the nearby village gathered at Singh border on Wednesday to observe Black Day on the completion of six months of the farmers' protest.
Many women also brought their kids along at the protest sites. They also carried out a mock coffin of Prime Minister Narendra Modi led Central Government to express resentment on the failure of the government to resolve farmer's issues.
The farmers hoisted black flags and raised anti-government slogans.
“It's been six months since we have been sitting at Delhi borders but the government has turned a deaf ear to our concerns. Modi government only listens to the tune of Ambani and Adani. The government has dragged us from our fertile fields to protest ground leaving our homes and livelihood means but we will not give up. We have spent one Diwali, Lohri here, we can spend more but we stand firm on our demand of repealing farm bills and fixing MSP,” told a woman protestor.
Various protesting farmers expressed resentment towards the BJP government in the Centre. It is worth mentioning that 12 opposition parties including Congress, Trinamool Congress, Left Parties, SP, NCP, and DMK have extended support to Kisan Morcha for nationwide protest calls.
The protesting farmers have clarified that they are not blocking any roads during the protest.
