MP Amritpal's team to not contest Punjab by-polls; Here's why

Chandigarh, October 24, 2024: Khadur Sahib MP Amritpal Singh's team announced to not contest in the upcoming forthcoming Punjab by-polls to be held on November 13.
"The decision not to contest the elections was taken after serious deliberation. It was concluded in the discussion that the by-elections could be fought effectively only in the case of a common sectarian candidate in each constituency, but at the present time, seeing the mutual bitterness in the relations of various sectarian parties, it is impossible to do so. It doesn't seem possible anyway. The second big reason is that our biggest goal at the moment is to focus all our attention on the revival of the Shiromani Akali Dal to bring the sectarian politics out of the way," issued MP Amritpal Singh team.
