36 IPS officers promoted in Bihar

Patna (Bihar), December 25, 2024: The Bihar government has promoted 36 IPS officers. A notification in this regard was issued by the state home department on Monday.
A notification from the Home Department released stated that officers from the 2007, 2010, and 2012 batches, including several district Superintendents of Police (SPs), have received promotions to higher ranks.
Among those promoted are Sudhir Kumar Porika, Chandan Kumar Kushwaha, Har Kishore Rai, Satya Prakash, Ashish Bharti, Rakesh Kumar, Rajendra Kumar Bhill, and Swapna Meshram. From the 2007 batch, Daljit Singh, Vivek Kumar, and Ranjit Kumar Mishra have been elevated to the rank of Inspector General (IG), with Vivek Kumar’s promotion is conditional on completing the fourth phase of mid-career training.
Additionally, Ganesh Kumar, an IPS officer from the 2020 batch currently serving on central deputation, has received a proforma promotion to the rank of Additional Director General (ADG), filling the vacancy left by Jitendra Singh Gangwar's promotion to Director General (DG).
In a notable reshuffle, eight officers have been promoted to Deputy Inspector General (DIG). This group includes Sudhir Kumar Porika and Chandan Kumar Kushwaha from the 2010 batch, whose promotions are effective immediately. Officers from the 2011 batch, such as Har Kishore Rai, Satya Prakash, and Ashish Bharti, will be promoted to DIG starting January 1, 2025.
