Punjab’s War on drugs: Bulldozer action against drug trafficker’s illegal property in Muktsar Sahib

Muktsar Sahib (Punjab), March 12, 2025: In a major crackdown under the ‘Yudh Nashian Virudh’ (War Against Drugs) campaign, the Punjab government, led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, has intensified action against drug traffickers. Today, an illegally constructed building in Madrasa village, Sri Muktsar Sahib district, was demolished as part of this initiative.
Providing details, SSP Dr. Akhil Chaudhary stated that the building belonged to Sarabjit Singh, a resident of Madrasa village under Lakhewali police station. Singh, along with his family, has five drug smuggling cases registered against them.

The demolition was carried out following orders from the competent authority, with tight security arrangements in place.
Dr. Akhil Chaudhary emphasized that under Punjab’s Mission War on Drugs, any property acquired through drug money will be seized, and illegal constructions on government land will be demolished.
He also issued a public appeal:
Report drug dealers fearlessly – Informers' identities will be kept confidential.
Strict action awaits culprits – The Punjab police is committed to eradicating the drug menace.
