Bathinda Police arrests 6 gangsters with AK-47 rifle after brief encounter

Bathinda (Punjab), March 14, 2025: Bathinda Police successfully arrested six gangsters following a brief encounter, recovering an AK-47 rifle used in a recent armed robbery.
The accused had looted approximately ₹7,000–₹8,000 in cash and four to five mobile phones at gunpoint from Green Hotel on Bathinda-Bhucho Road on March 11. Acting on intelligence that the suspects were spotted in the Bhucho Mandi area, multiple police teams launched a search operation.
During the raid, police identified a suspicious vehicle with a Bathinda registration number. As the officers approached, one of the criminals opened fire using an AK-47 rifle, striking the vehicle.
In retaliatory firing, one suspect, identified as Satnam Singh, sustained a gunshot wound to his leg. He was immediately taken to the hospital for treatment. Meanwhile, police successfully arrested the remaining five gang members on the spot.
SP City Narinder Singh confirmed the arrests and stated that further investigations are underway to uncover additional details related to the case.
