Haryana CS Anurag Rastogi reviews progress of key railway projects

Chandigarh, April 4, 2025 – Haryana Chief Secretary Sh. Anurag Rastogi chaired the 31st Board Meeting of the Haryana Rail Infrastructure Development Corporation (HRIDC) today to review the progress of several priority railway infrastructure projects across the state.
The meeting focused on critical updates for key projects including the Manesar–Patli line, Kurukshetra Elevated Track, and the proposed Eastern Orbital Rail Corridor (EORC).
Additional Chief Secretary, B&R, Sh. Anurag Agarwal, and senior government officials were also in attendance.
Chief Secretary Rastogi emphasized the importance of timely project execution, inter-agency coordination, and the role of these projects in enhancing connectivity and economic growth in Haryana.
Major Highlights:
- The Commissioner of Railway Safety (CRS) has approved the remodeling of Patli Yard, connecting the Patli–Manesar section to Indian Railways via the Haryana Orbital Rail Corridor (HORC). The interconnection was completed on March 28, 2025.
- The Manesar–Patli section (excluding Patli Yard) is physically complete, with final documents submitted to Northern Railway for CRS inspection expected this month.
- The Kurukshetra Elevated Track Project, including viaduct, track, and electrification, is completed. However, Northern Railway has mandated that the project be fully commissioned only after Thanesar Station is completed in Phase-II, now expected by September 2025.
- The EORC feasibility study, connecting Sonipat to Palwal via Baghpat, Ghaziabad, and Gautam Buddha Nagar, has been completed by HRIDC and submitted to the NCR (UP) Steering Committee on February 28, 2025.
- The Detailed Project Reports (DPRs) for the Garhi Harsaru–Farukhnagar–Jhajjar (36 km) and Karnal–Yamunanagar (65 km) rail lines are currently under preparation.
The meeting also saw participation from Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister, Arun Kumar Gupta, and other senior officials, underscoring the state’s high-level focus on railway infrastructure development.
