Babushahi Bureau
Chandigarh, May 1, 2025 – Haryana Labour Minister Anil Vij, while addressing members of the Haryana Medical Representatives Association in Ambala on Labour Day, assured them of prompt redressal of their issues and said, “I am a man of labour and have worked 18 years in a bank. I will listen to your entire issue and take action. You are welcome to come to me anytime.”
The minister was speaking after receiving a memorandum of demands from hundreds of association members, who highlighted the challenges faced by over 6,000 sales promotion employees working with pharmaceutical companies across the state. These employees, covered under the Sales Promotion Employees Act, sought inclusion in the Industrial Disputes Act, notification of their category under “highly skilled employees in higher grade,” and fixed working hours.
Vij informed the delegation that he had already spoken to the Labour Commissioner regarding their demands and assured that necessary changes would be considered. The association expressed gratitude for the minister’s prompt response and said they had full faith in his leadership.
Prominent among those present were Association President Satnam Singh, General Secretary Gautam Chadha, Vivek Bhatia, and several other officials and members.
Public Grievances Addressed at Minister’s Residence
Later in the day, Minister Anil Vij also held a public grievance session at his residence in Ambala Cantonment, where he met residents from various areas and issued directions to concerned officials.
A farmer from Machhonda village sought compensation for crop loss due to fire, following which Vij directed the Deputy Commissioner to act. In Kumhar Mandi, a complaint regarding house windows being blocked by illegal construction prompted the minister to ask the Municipal Council Secretary to investigate the matter. Residents from DhanKaur village raised drainage issues, which were referred to the relevant department.
In another case, a resident from Kaccha Bazaar shared that his second-hand vehicle was seized by a bank due to unpaid dues by the previous owner. The minister directed Cantt Police Station officials to take appropriate action. Several other complaints were also addressed during the session.
