Chandigarh, May 26, 2025: In a major action, Punjab Vigilance Bureau arrests dismissed lady constable Amandeep Kaur and freezes assets including two prime Bathinda plots worth over ₹1.17 crore, a Mahindra Thar, Royal Enfield Bullet, Rolex watch, and three smartphones — all amassed disproportionately to her known income.
According to a VB spokesperson, the arrest stems from a detailed inquiry into complaint number 94/2025. The investigation revealed that Amandeep Kaur, who served as Constable No. 621/Mansa in the Punjab Police, amassed wealth significantly exceeding her known sources of income between 2018 and 2025.
Income-Expenditure Discrepancy Uncovered
During the vigilance probe, it was found that Kaur had a total income of ₹1,08,37,550, while her expenses ballooned to ₹1,39,64,802.97, exceeding her income by ₹31,27,252.97 — a 28.85% discrepancy.
This financial mismatch led to her arrest and the freezing of her assets, which include multiple high-value properties and luxury items.

Background
Amandeep Kaur, a resident of Chak Fateh Singh Wala, District Bathinda, was dismissed from service prior to this arrest. Her alleged links to cases under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act have added another layer of scrutiny to her financial activities.
The arrest and seizure of assets signal a serious move by the Punjab government to clean up the system and serve as a deterrent for other corrupt officials.
