Punjab Senior Vets decry stoppage of bill payments
Treasuries stall payments on pretext of poor fiscal position

Mohali (Punjab), June 26, 2025: The Punjab Senior Vets Association in a meeting held here today urged the Finance Minister and Chief Minister Punjab to immediately release the leave encashment arrears and medical bills of retired Officers and employees who were licking dust at respective treasuries of the state.
Dr. Nitin Kumar Gupta Ex Chief Executive Officer of Punjab Gau Sewa Commission and Dr Gurinder Singh Walia former Joint Director of Animal husbandry Punjab lamented that medical and leave encashment arrear bills were not being cleared by treasuries as the Finance department had issued verbal instructions to not to clear these bills on pretext of poor financial position.
"The bills of Senior citizens who are at fag end of their lives ought to be cleared at the earliest as their requirements are dire in view of their illnesses", they added.
Prominent among others present in the meeting were Dr Desh Deepak Goyal, Dr Shashi Saini, Dr Madan Mohan Singla, Dr Paramjit Saini, Dr Jagjit Singh and Dr Gautam Parshad.
