Jail Commando nabbed over smuggling heroin concealed in boot sole
Ferozepur, June 27, 2025: In a significant seizure under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, the Ferozepur police recovered 20 grams of brown heroin from a commando employee. The accused, LR/HC Sukha Singh, was caught with the narcotics in the jurisdiction of the City Police Station.
According to police sources, information was received from Tarsem Singh, Assistant Superintendent of the Central Jail, Ferozepur, around 12:10 PM on June 27. He reported that Commando LR/HC Sukha Singh, was found carrying narcotics during a security check. Upon search on entering the entrance gate, he was discovered to be in possession of 20 grams of brown heroin (non-commercial) in white colour from the sole - ‘patava’ - of his left boot.
The matter is under investigation and a case has been registered under Section 21 of the NDPS Act. (Non-commercial). Further investigations are on with Gurdeep Singh, IO in this case.
