Liquor Scam: 22 Excise officers suspended

Raipur (Chhattisgarh), July 10, 2025 — In a significant development in the high-profile ₹2,174 crore liquor scam, the Chhattisgarh government has taken its most decisive action yet by suspending 22 excise and commercial tax officers. Official orders for their suspension have been issued by the Excise Department.
This sweeping action follows the submission of a nearly 2,300-page chargesheet by the Economic Offences Wing (EOW) on Monday, July 7, in a special court. The chargesheet names 29 excise officials, and the court has accepted it for further proceedings.
