Congress to host OBC Equity Conference in Delhi on July 25
Ferozepur, July 14, 2025: The Indian National Congress will organize the "OBC Participation and Justice Conference" on July 25, 2025, at Talkatora Stadium, New Delhi, to address key issues faced by the Other Backward Classes (OBC) community across India.
Senior Congress leadership, including National President of the All India Congress OBC Department Anil Yadav Jaihind, will lead thousands of party workers and representatives from various states at the event. The initiative is inspired by the values of Mahatma Phule, Mahatma Gandhi, Jawaharlal Nehru, and Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, aiming to ensure representation of marginalized communities in top positions of governance.
Gurbhej Singh Tibbi, former National Coordinator of the Congress OBC Department, highlighted major demands such as full implementation of the Mandal Commission report, enforcement of 27% reservation in education and employment, and proportional representation from the village level to Parliament. The conference will also push for reservation in municipal councils and corporations, including chairperson-level posts.
The Congress party reaffirmed its commitment to uplift the OBC community socio-economically and politically, emphasizing that true national progress requires inclusive representation. Mobilization efforts are underway across villages, cities, and wards to ensure mass participation in the conference.
