Sri Guru Granth Sahib World University Holds Anti-Ragging Awareness Lecture
Fatehgarh Sahib SP Harwant Kaur Urges Students to Stand Against Wrongdoing
Fatehgarh Sahib, August 14, 2025: The University School of Law at Sri Guru Granth Sahib World University, Fatehgarh Sahib, organised an Anti-Ragging Awareness Lecture as part of Anti-Ragging Week observances. The session aimed to sensitise students about the legal provisions, institutional policies, and ethical responsibilities in preventing ragging on campus.
Ms. Harwant Kaur, Superintendent of Police, Fatehgarh Sahib, interacted with first-year students of BALLB, LLB, and LLM programs, encouraging them to raise their voice against any wrongful acts and to remain vigilant and responsible. She urged the students to contribute to a safe, disciplined, and inclusive academic environment.
The event was graced by Prof. (Dr.) Prit Pal Singh, Vice Chancellor; Prof. (Dr.) Sukhwinder Singh Billing, Dean Academic Affairs; Prof. (Dr.) Amita Kaushal, Head and Dean of the Faculty; and S. Inderjeet Singh, SHO, Fatehgarh Sahib.
In her welcome address, Prof. (Dr.) Amita Kaushal briefed attendees on the Anti-Ragging Act and UGC guidelines, underlining the University’s zero-tolerance policy towards ragging. She called on students to promote a culture of mutual respect and peer support.
Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Prit Pal Singh lauded the initiative of the University School of Law, stressing the importance of collective responsibility in eliminating ragging and building trust and camaraderie among students.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks from Dr. Navneet Kaur, who expressed gratitude to all dignitaries, faculty, and students for their active participation and support in making the programme a success.
