Chandigarh, August 28, 2025: The Punjab Revenue, Rehabilitation and Disaster Management Department has appointed S. Gulpreet Singh Aulakh, Director Land Records, as the Nodal Officer for the State Flood Control Room based in Jalandhar. This move aims to strengthen coordination and speed up relief efforts in flood-affected regions.
Punjab Revenue, Rehabilitation and Disaster Management Minister S. Hardeep Singh Mundian emphasized the vital role of the State Flood Control Room, which works round the clock in close coordination with Deputy Commissioners, Army, NDRF, SDRF, and other relevant authorities to ensure an effective response to flood emergencies. He added that the appointment of a dedicated nodal officer would enhance monitoring, decision-making, and liaison with field officials, thereby improving relief actions. The Director Land Records will maintain continuous communication with field staff and provide timely updates to the State Government.
The State Flood Control Room, established at Circuit House, Jalandhar (Helpline number: 0181-2240064), operates 24/7 to ensure prompt responses during flood crises. The control room functions under the supervision of Minister Aman Arora, who also handles Good Governance and Information Technology portfolios. Deputy Commissioner Dr. Himanshu Agarwal and Advisor Deepak Bali from the Tourism and Cultural Affairs Department provide comprehensive support to ensure smooth functioning.
