BSF handled border fence and Sutlej flood simultaneously
Ferozepur, 29 August 2025: Border Security Force (BSF) personnel have displayed indomitable courage and conscientiousness to maintain a vigilant vigil on the border despite difficult conditions such as floods in Sutlej river in the border area and inundation of the border fence.

Despite the border areas being submerged due to flood waters, BSF soldiers are performing their duty day and night on the border with full devotion. Boats are being patrolled in the submerged areas and suspicious activities are being closely monitored with the help of sophisticated surveillance equipment. The intelligence wing of the BSF is also actively maintaining its reach in such sensitive areas, where there is a high probability of illegal activities under the guise of floods.
In these circumstances, the BSF jawans showed their readiness and failed the traffickers' attempt by seizing 02 drones and about 06 kg of heroin.
Along with border security in extreme situations caused by floods, BSF has also played an active role in relief and rescue operations at the district level while fulfilling humanitarian obligations. The water wing of BSF, officers and jawans are working in coordination with the district administration to evacuate the villagers from the border villages – Kaluwala, New Gatti Rajoke, Dhira Ghara and Nihale Laveda to safe places.
Besides this, the BSF is also delivering fodder to the villages from which it was not possible to evacuate the cattle with the help of its boats.
This effort of the Border Security Force not only ensures the security of the border, but also provides support to the border villagers in times of calamity.
