Floods Update: 37 dead, 1,655 villages affected, over 3.55 lakh people impacted in Punjab (Upto Sept 03,2025)

Chandigarh, September 3, 2025 – Punjab is battling one of its worst flood crises in decades, with officials confirming that all 23 districts have been affected.
- Casualties: 37 lives lost; 3 persons missing in Pathankot.
- Population Affected: 3.55 lakh people hit across 1,655 villages.
- Rescue & Relief: 19,500 people evacuated; 167 relief camps sheltering 5,304 residents.
- Agriculture Loss: 1.75 lakh hectares of standing crops damaged — worst-hit districts include Gurdaspur (40,169 ha), Mansa (24,967 ha), Amritsar (23,000 ha), and Tarn Taran (12,828 ha).
- Rescue Ops: 22 NDRF teams, Army, Air Force, Navy, BSF, and SDRF engaged. Nearly 30–35 helicopters and 117 boats deployed for relief work.
Officials said livestock and infrastructure assessments are underway, with early reports indicating widespread losses.
