18 benches dispose of 10,181 cases in Ferozepur Lok Adalats
Ferozepur, September 13, 2025: In all, 10,181 cases were decided in Ferozepur Lok Adalats under 18 benches, in line with the directions of the National Legal Services Authority, Delhi, and under the guidance of Punjab State Legal Services Authority, Mohali, the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Ferozepur organized National Lok Adalats across the district today under the supervision of Shri Sumit Malhotra, District & Sessions Judge, Ferozepur.
A total of 18 benches were constituted—12 in the Ferozepur courts, one at the Permanent Lok Adalat, three at Zira, and two at Guru Har Sahai. Additionally, 10 revenue benches were also set up. Out of 21,609 cases listed, 10,181 were amicably settled.
The cases disposed of included civil disputes, compoundable criminal cases, cheque bounce, recovery matters, traffic challans, domestic disputes, motor accident claims, and pre-litigation cases involving banks, finance companies, and telecom firms.
Help desks were established at the District Court Complex and at Zira and Guru Har Sahai to assist litigants. Decisions made in Lok Adalats carry the status of a decree and are binding, offering speedy, cost-effective justice where both parties emerge as winners without further litigation.
