Special ‘girdawari’ begins in 113 flood-hit villages of Ferozepur
Crop loss assessment underway in 113 Ferozepur villages after floods
Ferozepur, September 13, 2025: A special girdawari (crop damage assessment) has formally begun in 113 villages of the district affected by recent floods. Revenue department teams are visiting fields and preparing on-the-spot reports, said Deputy Commissioner Deepshikha Sharma.
The assessment is being conducted online through the PLRS portal, with Sub-Divisional Magistrates directed to monitor the process to ensure speedy completion personally.
To expedite the work, officials from non-flood-affected areas, including patwaris, kanungos, and senior officers, have also been deployed. Strict instructions have been issued to staff to complete the assessment at the ground level in a transparent manner. Supervising officers will regularly inspect the progress to maintain accountability.
DC further stated that farmers will be given an adequate opportunity to verify that the crop assessment in their fields has been done correctly within the stipulated time frame.
