Sarpanch donates Rs 50K to CM Relief Fund for flood-hit victims
Ferozepur, September 20, 2025: In the wake of severe floods triggered by heavy rains in the upper hills and the subsequent release of water from dams, which inundated several villages along the Sutlej river, villagers of Betu Kadim have stepped forward to support relief efforts.
Mukhtiar Singh Puri, Sarpanch of Betu Kadim village, today handed over a cheque of ₹50,000 to Ferozepur (Rural) MLA Rajneesh Kumar Dahiya for the Punjab Chief Minister’s Relief Fund to aid flood-affected families.
Expressing gratitude to the Panchayat members—Kuldeep Dhawan, Jaspal Singh Bhullar, Raj Singh, Bohar Singh and Gurmeet Kaur—for their support, Sarpanch Puri said the contribution was a collective effort of the village.
MLA Dahiya lauded the initiative and appealed to others to come forward. “Punjab is facing a natural calamity, and it is our duty to extend a helping hand so that the affected people can rebuild their lives,” he said. He urged citizens to donate directly to the CM Relief Fund through https://rangla.punjab.gov.in.
District Coordinator of Nasha Mukti Morcha Harjinder Singh Saran, former Sarpanch Inderpal Singh Pamma, and Sahil Puri were also present on the occasion.
