8 nabbed in 4 NDPS cases with Heroin, Opium, Poppy Husk in Ferozepur
Ferozepur, October 11, 2025: In a significant breakthrough under the campaign Yudh Nashian Virudh, Ferozepur Police have arrested eight accused in four separate cases registered under the NDPS Act. The joint operation by police teams from Ferozepur City, Guruharsahai, Zira and Makhu led to the recovery of 1.013 kg heroin, 20.258 kg opium, 86.064 kg poppy husk, one Creta car, one motorcycle and five mobile phones.
SSP Bhupinder Singh Sidhu said that special teams have been constituted to maintain strict surveillance over drug traffickers and ensure a complete crackdown on their illegal activities.
In the first case, Love alias Love Bhatti, Shiv, and Pargat alias Ghodhar were arrested near Sheller on Rakhri Road with 1.013 kg heroin, a motorcycle and three mobile phones. In the second case at Zira, Sandeep Singh and Gurpreet Singh, both 24, were caught transporting 51.064 kg poppy husk in rubber powder bags concealed in a truck, sourced from Rajasthan.
In another case at Zira, Harjinder Singh alias Jinder, Gurjinder Singh alias Gora, and Surjit Singh alias Sidda were arrested with 20.258 kg opium hidden in specially designed secret compartments of their vehicle, along with two mobiles. In the fourth case, Sukhdev Singh alias Moli of Guruharsahai was nabbed from Panke Ke Uttar with 35 kg poppy husk stored for sale, brought from Maharashtra.
Police records revealed that Pargat Singh alias Ghodhar was already facing an NDPS case for recovery of heroin in June 2025, while Sukhdev Singh alias Moli had a prior case involving 16 kg poppy husk.
The SSP confirmed that further investigations are underway to trace backward and forward linkages, and more recoveries are expected in the coming days.
