Tarn Taran (Punjab), October 27, 2025: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) candidate from the Tarn Taran by-election, Harmeet Singh Sandhu, on Monday praised Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann’s visionary “Jisda Khet, Usdi Ret” initiative, describing it as a landmark decision that reflects the AAP government’s commitment to the welfare of Punjab’s farmers and common citizens.
Launched just weeks ago, the scheme has already resulted in a 30 to 35 percent drop in sand prices across Punjab, significantly reducing construction costs while helping flood-affected farmers reclaim their fields buried under sand and silt.
“Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has once again proved that the Aam Aadmi Party stands with the people in every crisis. When floods devastated Punjab’s fields, instead of making farmers run from one office to another, Mann Saab empowered them through ‘Jisda Khet, Usdi Ret’—allowing them to reclaim and use their own land without any permit or NOC,” Sandhu said.
He emphasized that this single decision has provided economic relief to farmers while also ensuring affordable sand availability for the general public. “This is what true governance looks like—swift, transparent, and centered around people’s welfare,” he added.
Highlighting the AAP government’s people-first policies, Sandhu said, “Whether it is free electricity, better schools, improved healthcare, or farmer-friendly reforms, every step taken by CM Bhagwant Mann reflects his vision for an honest and prosperous Punjab.”
Appealing to voters ahead of the by-election, Sandhu urged the people of Tarn Taran to stand with AAP’s governance model. “A vote for AAP is a vote for honest leadership and real change. Let us strengthen Bhagwant Mann’s hands so we can build a Punjab where every farmer, worker, and youth thrives,” he said.
