Nangal (Punjab), March 7, 2026: A promising young civil service aspirant from Nangal in Rupnagar district has etched her name among India’s top achievers by securing an impressive All‑India Rank (AIR) 388 in the UPSC Civil Services Examination (CSE) 2025 — a feat celebrated by family, friends and aspirants alike.
Japleen Kaur, 27, completed her B.Tech in Electronics before pursuing her dream of joining the civil services. After working for two years as a software developer in Bangalore, she shifted gears to full‑time preparation for the UPSC, marking this attempt as her second overall and first mains and interview success.

Born into a family deeply rooted in education, Japleen draws inspiration from her late father Jagdeep Singh, who passed away in 2010, and her mother Prabhjot Kaur, a retired government school teacher known in the community for her dedication to children’s learning. Her elder sister is now settled in Canada.
Sharing her achievement with pride, Japleen said the support of her mother and the values instilled by her family helped her navigate the demanding UPSC journey — from clearing the preliminary exam to acing the mains and interview stages.
