Dera Bassi (Punjab), March 14, 2026: In a show of strength ahead of upcoming political battles in Punjab, thousands of supporters from the Dera Bassi constituency travelled to the BJP’s rally in Moga on Saturday in a convoy of 41 buses led by senior Bharatiya Janata Party leader Gurdarshan Singh Saini.
The convoy moved along the Patiala–Zirakpur Road, drawing attention as large numbers of party workers and supporters headed to attend the rally addressed by Union Home Minister Amit Shah. Youth leader Hardeep Singh was also present and mobilised young supporters for the event.
While flagging off the convoy, Saini criticised the ruling Aam Aadmi Party government in Punjab, alleging that law and order in the state has deteriorated. He claimed that incidents related to gangster violence occurring in broad daylight indicate a failure of governance.
Saini also targeted other political parties, including the Indian National Congress and the Shiromani Akali Dal, stating that they have failed to address the state’s challenges. According to him, the BJP is the only party capable of restoring peace and stability in Punjab.
The BJP leader thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah, saying the central government has remained committed to Punjab’s development. He added that under the “Developed India” vision, several central schemes are benefiting both rural and urban areas of the state.
Calling the Moga rally a “Badla Rally,” Saini said it marked the beginning of what he described as a new political phase for Punjab. He claimed the large turnout from Dera Bassi signals growing support for the BJP in the state.
Youth leader Hardeep Singh said that many young voters in the constituency are increasingly supporting the BJP’s policies, expressing confidence that the rally would bring renewed momentum to the party’s campaign in Punjab.
