Chandigarh, April 25, 2026: Rebel Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) MLA from Dakha, Manpreet Singh Ayali, has launched a sharp attack on the Aam Aadmi Party, accusing it of “cheating Punjab” through its Rajya Sabha nominations.
Ayali alleged that AAP sidelined Sikh intellectuals, party workers, and native Punjabis by sending “outsiders and businessmen” to the Rajya Sabha. He claimed that this decision has now backfired, with the same seven Rajya Sabha members allegedly distancing themselves from AAP and aligning with the Bharatiya Janata Party.
“The Aam Aadmi Party is now facing the consequences of its own betrayal and political miscalculations,” Ayali said, adding that the party ignored grassroots workers in favor of influential outsiders.
Targeting the BJP, Ayali further stated that the party too would have to “pay the price” for what he described as “corruption-driven politics” in Punjab. He accused the BJP of neglecting its own cadre while attempting to expand its influence in the state through questionable alliances.
