IPS officer’s minor daughter allegedly dies by suicide; Probe on

Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, May 27, 2026: A tragic incident has been reported from the state capital’s high-security VIP locality Char Imli, where the minor daughter of an IPS officer allegedly died by suicide, police said.
As per NDTV report, the 17-year-old girl, a Class 11 student, was found hanging at her residence when no one was present at home. Upon receiving information, police reached the spot and shifted the body for post-mortem examination.
Habibganj Police Station SHO Sanjeev Chouksey confirmed that no suicide note was recovered from the room. A detailed search of her books and personal belongings was also conducted, but nothing has been found so far that could indicate the reason behind the extreme step.
Police stated that the investigation is not being limited to the suicide angle alone, given the absence of any clear evidence regarding the cause.
To understand the circumstances leading to the incident, police are questioning the girl’s close friends, including schoolmates, while also speaking to family members. Authorities are trying to determine whether she was under any mental stress or academic pressure prior to the incident.
