Bhagta Bhaika, July 12:
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Friday stepped up its outreach efforts for the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR)-2026 of electoral rolls by convening a meeting of the District BJP (Rural) Committee at Bhagta Bhaika, where party leaders reviewed the progress of the voter verification campaign and urged Booth Level Agents (BLAs) to intensify public awareness ahead of the July 24 deadline.
The meeting was chaired by senior BJP leader Gurpreet Singh Maluka and attended by Param Pal Kaur Sidhu, Convenor of the Bathinda Lok Sabha constituency. Vinay Sharma, In-charge of the Faridkot Lok Sabha constituency, also participated in the deliberations, as the Rampura Phul Assembly constituency falls under the Faridkot Lok Sabha constituency.
Reviewing the implementation of the Special Intensive Revision, party leaders interacted with Booth Level Agents from across the constituency and assessed the progress of the ongoing enumeration exercise. Representatives from all polling booths attended the meeting and shared feedback on voter outreach, field-level coordination and issues encountered during the campaign.
Addressing the gathering, Gurpreet Singh Maluka said the Special Intensive Revision is an important exercise to ensure that electoral rolls remain accurate and inclusive.
"Every eligible voter must ensure that his or her name is correctly reflected in the electoral roll. Those who have not yet filled their enumeration forms should immediately contact their respective Booth Level Agents (BLAs) or Booth Level Officers (BLOs) and complete the process without waiting for the last date," he said.
Maluka reminded electors that the enumeration process commenced on June 25 and will continue until July 24. He urged party workers and BLAs to undertake door-to-door outreach and assist voters in completing the required formalities.
"Our objective is that no eligible elector should be left out of the electoral roll due to lack of awareness or procedural delays. Every booth team must work proactively to facilitate voters and ensure maximum participation in the revision exercise," he added.
Param Pal Kaur Sidhu called upon party workers to maintain close coordination with BLAs and voters to ensure smooth implementation of the revision process. She emphasized that timely dissemination of information and active public participation would contribute to the success of the ongoing electoral roll revision.
Vinay Sharma also stressed the importance of coordinated efforts at the grassroots level, stating that effective booth-level engagement would help ensure comprehensive coverage of all eligible electors.
Among those present at the meeting were Swaran Singh Burj Ladha (BLA-1), Kala Garg General Secretary of the District BJP (Rural) Unit, Surinder, Circle President, Bablesh Kumar, Sukhwant Singh, and Booth Level Agents and party functionaries from across the constituency.
