Hawara refuses to accept custody parole, demands regular parole

Chandigarh, August 14, 2026: Though Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann did his best by meeting Punjab Governor Gulab Chand Kataria to secure parole for Jagtar Singh Hawara convicted in Beant Singh Assasination case, Hawara has reportedly refused to accept two day custody parole and instead has demanded regular parole.
According to a report of The Tribune, Delhi Prison department has told Hawara that he was being granted two day custody parole as his movement outside prison would require deputation of additional troops, Hawara has reportedly refused to accept this custody parole and has demanded regular parole to meet his ailing mother.
