New Delhi/ Chandigarh, August 21, 2026: Union Jal Shakti Minister and senior BJP leader C.R. Patil has been appointed as the Punjab BJP election in-charge ahead of the 2027 Punjab Assembly elections.
Following his appointment, Patil has been actively holding meetings and discussions related to Punjab, as the BJP steps up its organisational and electoral preparations for the state Assembly polls.
Patil, known for his organisational and election-management experience, is expected to play a key role in coordinating the party's election strategy, strengthening the organisation and assessing political developments in Punjab.

Patil has also chaired meetings involving Punjab officials and ministers on matters related to rural sanitation and the implementation of the Jal Jeevan Mission.
His appointment as Punjab BJP election in-charge assumes significance as the party prepares for what is expected to be a multi-corner contested Assembly election in 2027.
