SAP HackFest’26-Regional Round organized by CGC Landran

Chandigarh Engineering College (CEC)-CGC Landran organized the SAP HackFest’26, Regional Round, on campus, in association with SAP Labs India Pvt. Ltd. The event brought together student innovators, technology enthusiasts, industry leaders, mentors and academic stakeholders, providing participating teams a platform to present their ideas, demonstrate prototypes and engage with industry professionals.
Gracing the occasion with their presence were Mr. Rahul Sachdev, Director, India Subcontinent, SAP University Alliances and Mr. Abhijeet Mehrotra, Director & Business Head, upGradX. Their interaction with students provided insights into emerging technologies, innovation, industry expectations and career opportunities, while adding an important industry perspective to the event. Among other dignitaries present on the occasion were Dr. Sukhpreet Kaur, Director-Principal, CEC-CGC Landran; Dr. Kapil Mehta, HoD, Department of Emerging Technologies, CEC-CGC Landran, Directors and Deans of the institution.
The hackathon featured presentations and demonstrations of student solutions, along with mentoring and interaction with experienced professionals. The multi-panel evaluation enabled participants to receive perspectives from experts across technology and business domains, while helping them understand industry expectations and the practical considerations involved in developing technology-based solutions.
The participating teams were evaluated by an expert panel comprising Mr. Jaydeep Ghosh, Senior Manager, Global Enablement, Adobe; Mr. Avinash Kalra, Manager, Deloitte; Mr. Nitin Maheshwari, Director, Business Development Team, upGrad; Mr. Priyanshu, Data Scientist, TechCadd; Mr. Rachit Jain, Founder & CEO, Mentorle; Ms. Tandeep Singra, Founder, She Innovates AI; Mr. Gurminder Singh, Data Scientist & MD, CoderRoots; Mr. Aman Mundra, Founder & CEO, Welzin; Mr. Navneet Singh, Business Development Leader; and Mr. Prince Kalra, Lead Engineer, SofLy Innovations. The jury assessed the solutions on parameters including innovation, problem identification, technical implementation, feasibility, scalability, potential impact, presentation and overall solution quality.
Expressing his views, Dr. Rajdeep Singh, Campus Director, CGC Landran said, “Organizing the SAP HackFest’26 Regional Round at CGC Landran highlights our commitment to creating platforms where students can innovate, experiment and solve real-world challenges. It further offers our students the opportunity to interact with industry leaders and experts helping them receive valuable feedback and develop solutions with practical relevance. Such experiences complement classroom learning and help students build the confidence and capabilities required in a changing technology landscape.”
HackFest’ 26 also provided students with an opportunity to demonstrate their technical, entrepreneurial and problem-solving capabilities. Interactions with professionals from organisations including SAP, Adobe, Deloitte, upGrad, TechCadd and other technology and innovation organisations offered participants exposure to current industry practices, emerging technology trends and evolving professional requirements.
The event helped reinforce industry-academia connect at CGC Landran, supporting the institution’s focus on experiential learning and industry-oriented education while fostering innovation, entrepreneurship, experiential learning and technology-led problem-solving.
