Khedan Watan Punjab Diyan : VWS hosts District-Level Fencing Competition

Ferozepur, September 1, 2026: A district-level fencing competition under Khedan Watan Punjab Diyan was successfully organised at Vivekananda World School, (VWS), with enthusiastic participation from students representing various schools.

School Director Dr S.N. Rudra said the participants displayed remarkable sporting spirit, discipline and athletic skills during the competition. The young fencers competed fiercely for gold, silver and bronze medals under the expert guidance and rigorous training of the school's fencing coach, Kangabam Kane Singh.
In the Under-17 boys category, Pushap Nath of VWS clinched the gold medal, while Simarjit Singh secured silver. Ritmanbir Singh of DCM and Yuvraj Sharma of VWS won bronze medals for their commendable performances.
In the girls category, Jaireet Kaur and Shehnaaz Kaur of DCM won the gold and silver medals respectively. Supreet Kaur and Parnit Kaur of VWS secured bronze medals.
The medal presentation ceremony was jointly conducted by School Secretary Dolly Bhaskar, VP Admin Mahima Kapoor, VP Academics Shipra Arora, Chief Administrator Paramvir Sharma, Sports Coordinator Darshan Sidhu, Ranjeet Singh, Jaspreet Singh and Kulwinder Singh.
Dr Rudra said that sporting events such as fencing competitions play an important role in developing self-confidence, discipline, physical fitness and a competitive spirit among children. He reaffirmed Vivekananda World School's commitment to the holistic development of students by providing them opportunities to excel in both academics and sports.
