A new wave of enthusiasm swept through the political atmosphere of Zirakpur when the 'Nasha Mukt Punjab Yatra', a major campaign launched by the Bharatiya Janata Party to free Punjab's youth and future from the scourge of drugs, reached VIP Road on September 21. The meticulous arrangements and the massive gathering organized under the supervision of senior BJP leader and worker Sardar Gurdarshan Singh Saini transformed the yatra into a large-scale mass movement.
Mr. Saini had completed all preparations well in advance, resulting in a overwhelming turnout of local residents. Prominent figures who specially arrived from Delhi to attend this impressive event included Lok Sabha MP Manoj Tiwari, Rajya Sabha MP Satnam Singh Sandhu, General Secretary Parminder Singh Brar, and Ekta Nagpal.
Mr. Saini arrived at the rally venue leading a large cavalcade of tractors from Dera Bassi, with Manoj Tiwari riding alongside him on the tractor. Hardeep Singh Saini (son of Sardar Gurdarshan Singh Saini), District OBC Morcha President Harpreet Singh Saini, and their entire team warmly welcomed the key leaders of the yatra.
Addressing the huge gathering, key speakers shared the vision of a 'Drug-Free Punjab'. Rajya Sabha MP Satnam Singh Sandhu stated that drugs are eating away at Punjab's youth and economy like termites. He promised that if a BJP government is formed in the state, Punjab will be rendered completely drug-free within two years.
Manoj Tiwari from Delhi mentioned that the Central Government is committed to the welfare of Punjab, and the goal of this yatra is to rise above politics and make every household aware of this social evil, which requires the support of all Punjabis. He added that the Central Government is determined to break the back of drug trafficking in both border and inland areas of Punjab, and this large gathering bears witness to incoming change.
Expressing gratitude to all visiting senior leaders and local residents, Gurdarshan Singh Saini stated that every citizen of the Dera Bassi constituency stands like a rock with this campaign and will continue to work day and night to safeguard Punjab's youth.
On this occasion, the leaders participating in the yatra were also honored by the team of Hardeep Singh Saini and Harpreet Singh Saini. At the conclusion of the event, attendees raised their hands to pledge their support for making Punjab drug-free. Numerous local dignitaries, including Pushpinder Mehta and Sanat Bhardwaj, were present at the event.
