Traders withdraw ‘No UPI Day’ call after meeting FM Sitharaman

The All India Consumer Products Distributors Federation (AICPDF) and All India Mobile Retailers Association (AIMRA) have withdrawn their ‘No UPI Day’ call for October 2nd after meeting Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman.
These organisations had given the call for ‘No UPI Day’ on October 2nd to protest against proposed MDR of 0.4 percent being imposed by the Union Government on payments above Rs. 2000.
Led by Chandni Chowk MP and Secretary General Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) Praveen Khandelwal around 20 traders met Sitharaman and expressed concerns on levy of MDR on merchants. Delegation of traders also included CAIT National President BC Bhartia, AICPDF President Dhairyshil Patil, AIMRA Chairman Kailash Lakhyani, All India Jewellers and Goldsmith Federation President Pankaj Arora besides others.
Finance Minister assured the delegation that their concerns will be look into appropriately.
