During investigation, police examined files, videos and images associated with a tipline number/Instagram ID (242260489) available on the portal. The probe allegedly revealed that highly objectionable content involving minors was being uploaded and transferred through the said ID.

Police have intensified technical investigation to identify the accused by examining the associated mobile number, IP address and social media accounts.
Inspector Sukhbir Kaur appealed to the public to exercise extreme caution regarding objectionable content involving children. She said if any such video or photograph is received through Instagram, WhatsApp, Telegram or any other social media platform, users must not download, save or forward it under any circumstances.
She further cautioned that knowingly or unknowingly forwarding or sharing such material can attract serious criminal action under the Information Technology Act and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, and may result in imprisonment.
