IAS officer S Vineeth appointed Deputy Secretary under Central Staffing Scheme

New Delhi, October 17, 2026: S Vineeth, a 2013-batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of the Tamil Nadu cadre, has been appointed Deputy Secretary in the Union Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways under the Central Staffing Scheme.
According to an Office Memorandum issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on October 6, 2026, Vineeth is currently on compulsory wait in the Department of Higher Education.
His tenure as Deputy Secretary will continue until April 26, 2030, covering the remaining period of his four-year deputation at the Deputy Secretary level, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
The appointment will take effect from the date he assumes charge of the post.
